An Outing with Alpacas

One thing for sure – there are always surprises in Nepal!

Santosh and his big sisters say "namaste" to the alpacas.

Bonnie Auntie has always wanted to see an Alpaca but has never gotten to South America.  So when she saw an article in the newspaper about a German man who raises alpacas only 20 minutes from Ama Ghar, she was very interested.

She contacted this gentleman, who invited 12 of the children, Uma, Dhana and Bonnie Auntie to come out and see these fantastic animals. They are sweet, beautiful and curious. Ang Maya, age 4 ½, was very excited to see them and said “Look they have the same haircut as mine!” Others said “ They are very soft and their eyes were very nice.”

This alpaca has the same haircut as Ang Maya!

We fed them carrots and were able to touch and hug them. Our hosts were very kind and invited us to come back – we only have to let them know when we are coming and how many! We will definitely do this, as it was fun for kids and staff alike…
