With the opening of Ama Ghar in 2001, we established a loving home and access to education for up to 75 underprivileged Nepalese children.
Supporting Our Community Through Scholarships:
Ama Foundation’s Education Programs
Education transforms lives and breaks the cycle of poverty that traps so many children. But in Nepal, a vast number of primary and secondary school children are not in the classroom because of poverty.
Whether it means bringing education to a child, building child-friendly accommodations, providing scholarships, Ama Foundation does whatever it takes to support children’s right to learn and become productive, self-sustaining citizens of Nepal.
Ama Foundation works tirelessly to ensure that children in our community —regardless of gender or circumstances—have access to a quality education.
In 2001 we opened Ama Ghar children’s home and became engaged members of the surrounding village. We felt compelled to do what we could to be a productive part of it, by offering children education scholarships.
Ama Foundation Scholarships for Boys and Girls:
To maximise the reach of our children’s aid we started to offer scholarships for poor children living with their families. Currently we provide scholarships to children from our community who cannot afford the fees, uniforms, and books required to attend the government schools.
Stand for Hope: Two Ways You Can Help Nepal’s Children
- Scholarships: For as little as $200 a year, our young scholarship recipients live at home and attend school. Help us save and protect Nepal’s children, who are among the world’s most vulnerable. Without this support they could be forced to work in difficult conditions to support their families. Yet, helping families to afford educational materials for their children means we are giving them tools to build a future. Donate today to bring hope to a child and its family!
- Full Board, Education & Health at Ama Ghar Children’s Home: Support orphans or underprivileged Nepalese children living full-time in our loving and eco-friendly children’s home. $166 a month provides a child with healthy food, school tuition, uniforms, books & supplies, Medical, dental & eye care. Donate now so that Ama Foundation can help Nepal’s children continue to recover from the 2015 M7.8 earthquake and grow.

When two earthquakes devastated Nepal in 2015 — affecting 1.1 million children and destroying thousands of homes, hospitals and schools — Ama Foundation sprang into action. We provided immediate, on-the-ground emergency relief: food, clean water, shelter, healthcare, education-support services.
