| If you are planning a trip to Nepal and looking for a way to get more out of traveling, visiting Ama Ghar Children’s Home is a great place to start! You’ll get the opportunity to teach and mentor the Ama Ghar children, meet local people, and experience Nepal from a unique perspective.
We are looking for energetic and inspired individuals and groups who want to share their skills and perspectives with the children. Whether you teach music, karate, or algebra; go on walks or play volleyball and scrabble; the children and staff at Ama Ghar gain valuable experience from each visitor’s presence. Click here to read the stories of visitors!
You are welcome to stay in our guest apartment for a few days or few months. You will be expected to cover the cost of your stay (currently $15.00 a day) and are also encouraged to sustain our program with a donation.
Download our guest Information Packet, Visitor Code of Conduct, Visitor Policy, Volunteer Rules, and current Wish List for more information. Contact Bonnie Ellison by clicking here or call 510-847-2889. |
| With only one paid employee, Ama Foundation relies on volunteers to help put on fundraisers, perform administrative tasks, and seek out new opportunities to develop the organization.
Our active Board of Directors carry much of the workload, but we are always looking for skilled individuals and businesses who can assist us in all areas.
Whether you want to chair an Ama Foundation fundraiser, help promote the work we do through the media, or come up with your own idea for ways to help, we welcome your input! No matter where you live, you can get involved.
Currently we are looking for those skilled in non-profit management, accounting, development, and public relations to help support our structural growth and success.
Read our volunteer blogs to find out how others are helping.
If you are interested to get involved, or would like more information, please email us or call 510-8472889 |
